In a recent interview, Wilson shared that she had a feeling the proposal was coming but tried to talk herself out of it to avoid disappointment. Turns out, she was right all along! Duck planned a picture-perfect moment at the historic George Jones estate, a property they had been wanting to visit. But when they arrived, Wilson quickly realized there was a different plan in motion.
“He had it all set up,” she recalled. “There were candles, picture frames, and it could not have been more perfect.”
Wilson later posted engagement photos on Instagram, capturing the magical moment as the couple stood on the front steps of Jones’ home. The final slide? A playful video of Lainey pretending her left hand was too heavy to lift—because of her stunning new ring, of course!
While the couple has been together for four years, Wilson says they knew almost immediately they were meant to be. In fact, she even joked about sending Hodges pictures of big engagement rings early on. “I told him, ‘This is what I like,’ and he was like, ‘Oh Lord, I better start saving now,’” she laughed.
As for the wedding? Wilson admits they haven’t started planning yet. “We really need to sit down and make that a priority, but I’m sure it’ll be something very, very simple,” she shared. With her packed tour schedule, finding time for wedding prep will be a challenge.
Wilson just wrapped up the European leg of her Whirlwind Tour and is set to perform at several festivals across the U.S. and Canada this summer. Then, starting August 14 in Phoenix, AZ, she’ll embark on the U.S. leg of the tour, which runs through November 8 in Orlando, FL. 🛣️🎤
