Reba McEntire’s 70th Birthday Surprise: A Celebration of Life, Love, and Music
Country music legend Reba McEntire celebrated a major milestone—her 70th birthday—on March 28, 2025, and what a journey it’s been! From her humble beginnings in Oklahoma to becoming a household name in country music, Reba has left an indelible mark on the industry. With over 75 million records sold, 25 number-one hits, 16 ACM Awards, and three Grammy Awards, she has rightfully earned her place in the Country Music Hall of Fame.

To commemorate this special occasion, Reba shared a rare glimpse into her childhood with a baby photo and reflected on her life’s journey, including the challenges she faced at birth. In a heartfelt message, she expressed gratitude for the guidance she’s received throughout her life:
“I’m so grateful and thankful to God and my Angels for continuing to guide, direct, protect, and give me my marching orders 🙂 And for putting each of you in my life.”

But the surprises didn’t stop there! Reba spent her big day performing at Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, CT, where her son Shelby Blackstock, his wife Marissa (aka Rissa), and close friend Shane Tarleton orchestrated an epic surprise. To keep Reba unsuspecting, they posted a fake Facebook status about attending a friend’s baby shower in Chicago. Instead, they showed up at the show wearing “Reba 70” jerseys and sat a few rows from the stage—Reba never saw them!

After performing her set, Reba headed backstage to join her boyfriend, Rex Linn, where she was met with an unexpected celebration. There, she was greeted by her kids, a cake, sparklers, and flowers. Overcome with emotion, she embraced Shelby and jokingly called him a “big liar” for pulling off the surprise.
It was a night filled with laughter, love, and unforgettable memories for a woman who’s given us decades of music, laughter, and joy. Here’s to Reba, a true icon who continues to inspire us all!
